Academic Competitive Grant

Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)

If a student is a Federal Pell Grant recipient, the student record will be evaluated for an Academic Competitive Grant of up to $750 for the first academic year of study and up to $1,300 for the second academic year of study from this new, federally-funded gift program.

In addition to being a Federal Pell Grant recipient, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

1. Be a U.S. citizen

2. Be enrolled full time in a degree program

3. Have successfully completed a rigorous secondary school program of study.

4.Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to receive an award for a second year of study

Annual award amounts may be reduced by the U.S. Department of Education, if sufficient funds are not available for all eligible students in an award year.

Make sure you check with your high school counselor to see if this program is available at the college you are submitting an applicaiton.

As stated, this is a brand new Federal Grant program. To keep up with changes that may occurr in the future to this program and to know if other new programs are implemented we suggest that you subscribe to The College Planner Digest.
